So, listen carefully, have fun and let's get started!
Today's love expression is:
Okay, so to be smitten with someone means that you really like them.
And it's very similar to having a crush on someone or having a soft spot for someone.
Basically, it's not a deep, deep love yet, but kind of a new love that's maybe developing and you really like them.
So, let's listen to a couple of examples.
I love watching news on Prince William and Kate. They are such a cute couple!
They really do seem to be quite smitten with each other, don't they?
Yes, but they're classy, not too lovey-dovey.
I hope it lasts!
Okay, so in this case, we're talking about Prince William and Kate really having a nice relationship
and they seem very in love with each other, very smitten with each other.
Okay, let's listen to the next example.
I talked to Becky about your date last night.
Oh, what did she say?
I don't know what you did, but she is totally smitten with you.
What can I say? Just call me Romeo!
Okay, so in this case, they had a date and she really likes him.
She's smitten with him.
All right, so next time you have a date or someone new in your life that you feel really good about,
you can say that you're smitten with them.
And we'll see you next time.
