Best practices state that one should use a secure connection.
However,
if one’s local computer and server are behind a reliable firewall,
this may not be necessary.
In order to connect securely,
one should go to "Edit,"
then "Settings,"
then "SFTP."
"SFTP" stands for "SSH File Transfer Protocol,"
and Filezilla Client supports this type of transfer.
SFTP means that the data is run over a secure channel,
such as SSH,
that the server has already authenticated the client,
and that the identity of the client user is available to the protocol.
