We're here at the 2013 World Shredding Championships where the incumbent,
Sammy Shredsalot, is going up against the challenger, Carol Commonsense.
And it looks like they're off!
Sammy has chosen a standard Shred-It-Up 2000. The challenger has chosen an
Iron Mountain Shred Bin, a bold choice to be sure.
And they're both ... wait! It looks like the challenger is done? While we can't be sure,
appearances can be deceiving.
The challenger just doesn't seem to be putting in the effort needed to win at a competition of this level.
She's already taking a coffee break.
And ... oh no! It looks like the champ has had a paper jam!
What a bad break for him, and just when things were looking up.
And it looks like the challenger is taking another break.
I think we're seeing signs of her lack of shredding experience.
Meanwhile, the champ is still at it, going fast and furious.
Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go! The incumbent is working hard at his Shred-It-Up 2000, a tried and true piece of equipment.
There have been rumors that he's been having hearing problems caused by the
incessant whine of the shredder,
but no pain, no gain, and some things are worth a little sacrifice.
And it looks like the challenger just can't take the pressure anymore.
Either that or she really is done and has actual work to do.
We just won't know for sure until the final results are announced.
Look at the champ go! Page after page after page,
there's just no stopping this machine! Except when he has to empty the shredder,
the unavoidable pit stop of the shredding world. Good thing he's got a seasoned crew
to help clean up that mess!
Well, we're out of time today,
but join us next week for the conclusion to the 2013 World Shredding Championships ...
assuming that the incumbent ever gets done.
