B2B CFO® - The Smart 25 Awards™ Small Business Award Winner - SageRider, Inc. My name is Stan Wall I am the President/ CEO of SageRider Incorporated.
How did you get started? Well personally i've been in it for almost thirty years. We started
this company in 2008 with the mixture and conglomeration of some
good personal friends who have a similar background
in our industry. We saw niche for
some products and services that we have an expertise in and we felt like it was a
good opportunity for us to put our talents together and bring them to the
forefront of our industry. And to this day we've had good success with that.
What do you do? We provide downhole tools for the oil and gas service sector.
Primarily, these are tools that will be used in a non-traditional resource place for
data acquisition
and also for hydraulic stimulation. We have a unique set of fiber-optic
tools that go along with our pressure temperature sensors that we place in the well
bore to give complete diagnostics to the oil and gas operators to help them better
evaluate their
drilling plans, production plans, completion techniques
and everything that goes along with full field development.
How do you stand out? We'd like to think that we're different
primarily because we have significant
technical
but we're also all very, very good friends with each other which allows us
to
interact on
personal nature which expands our technical capabilities.
I think this gives us a more honest approach to dealing with our clients and giving them
solutions to problems that they sometimes don't even they have.
So what we do is offer
up a technical
buffet if you will of things that allow the operators to maximize their
their field development.
What's next? Well we've made a couple of great strides financially in the last two years. We've
made a couple of strategic acquisitions that have been very
successful to date.
We'll continue to look at those. We have some significant geographical
growth plans including
international development into
southeast Asia, the Middle East and hopefully into Latin America. Europe is
certainly on the card as well. So things are looking very good for
us. We have a good vision for our growth both from a
personnel development standpoint, facilities and also from some new
technology and intellectual property that we believe is going to bring more
significant value to ourselves and to the industry.
Advice for new businesses? For those of you starting out pick good partners.
It's really, really important that you pick good partners. You have to have people that you trust.
You have to have people that you
deal with on a daily basis that you can relate to personally. You've gotta
have buy in from your family and that means your spouse, your girlfriend, your
wife, your kids, mom, dad, whoever.
Don't ever think for one minute that it's easy. Because it's the most difficult thing
you'll ever do but it is also the most rewarding thing you can imagine.
