CODY KIMMEL: Hi, my name is Cody Kimmel. I'm the lead singer of the band Eliot Fitzgerald
and I'm here with Expert Village to teach you how to write a country song. So, now that
we've come up with a chord structure, we understand the purpose of the bridge, we have some lyrics,
let's come up with a melody and let's put it all together. Now remember, the melody
should be different just as in all other things with the bridge. The melody should have some
distinguishing thing. If you are mellow, if you are more kind of the heartbroken cowboy,
for the rest of the song, you're more of the angry cowboy, get a little more in their face
with your lyrics and the way that you approach the bridge. If you haven't sung very high
yet, if you've been sticking within the lower range, go to a higher range within the bridge
and this is an example. [START SONG] "And I can't seem to remind myself, life is not
about a chance. And I can't help but feel between my sight and sense, 'cause girl beneath
the southern stars, all I wanted was for one more chance to dance." [END SONG] And there
is our bridge.
