Now what you want to do is try to get an agent. You got your voice over cd put together. This
is what you want to get multiple copies of and send out to all the agents seeking representation.
Now maybe you got some real voice over work and you got it on this cd, or perhaps you
just put together a compilation of different scripts and created this cd. At any rate if
you have a resume, put together a resume and a cover letter to send in with this voice
over cd, requesting, letting the agent know who you are, what you've done, and why you
are contacting them. That you are seeking representation. Send this out to every agent
within your entire area. If you know if you're good, if they need you, if you have the type
of voice that they don't already have a lot of, or that they think you might work, then
they'll probably call you in. But that's the first step in becoming a voice over artist
is getting an agent. Now do you have to have an agent in order to work. No. You can check
trade papers, you can check, there's lots of different online forums that sometimes
are looking for voice over artists. And that's a really good way, sometimes they pay, sometimes
they don't, but that's a really good way to get material for this cd. An agent might tell
you, well you don't really have enough experience. Well then do some of these freebie things,
these public service announcements. You know things that you find on, online, job searches
for voice over artist. Start doing some of those things and keep submitting to those
agents the more you add to your voice over cd.
