There lived an absent-minded person
in the Bassejnoj Street
in the morning he sat up on the bed,
and began putting on his shirt
put the arms in the sleeves
they turned out to be the trousers
When he wanted to put on the coat
they told him: "Not that one"
When he wanted to squeeze into the gaiters
They told him: "These are not yours"
Instead of the cap while walking,
He put the skillet on his head.
Instead of felt boots he squeezed gloves
over the heels.
Such an absent minded person
from the Bassejnoj Street.
One day on the streetcar
he went to the station
and said, as he opened the doors,
to the driver:
"My most dearest
wagondriv-earest!
Wagon-dearest.
most drivearest!
So for what else should I
have gotten of?
Isn't it possible to stop the
traintrain at the streetcar station?"
The driver was wondering -
and the street car stopped.
Such an absent minded person
from the Bassejnoj Street.
3.35 He went to the bar
to buy a ticket for himself.
And then he ran to the cashpoint
to buy a bottle of kwass
Such an absent minded person
from the Bassejnoj Street.
He ran on the track
and climbed into a detached wagon,
brought his packs and suitcases inside,
crammed them under the seats,
sat down in a corner in front of the window
and had a quiet sleep
What halt is this?
he called in the early morning
and from the tracks he was told
"That is the city Leningrad"
He slept a bit again
and again looked out of the window,
saw a big station
was wondering and said:
"What stop is this -
Bologoe or Pokovka?"
And from the tracks he was told:
That is the city of Leningrad
He slept a bit again
and again looked out of the window,
saw a big station
was wondering and said:
"Wat station is this -
Dibuny or Yamskaya?"
and from the tracks he was told
"That is the city Leningrad"
He shouted: "What kind of joke is this!
I go for two days already
and came back here,
back to Leningrad"
Such an absent minded person
from the Bassejnoj Street.
