• From demons in the outback to fingernail sized ocean killers
• We count down 15 of the deadliest creatures ever to squirt liquid pain directly into your
bloodstream 15 - Puffer Fish
• This is the second most poisonous vertebrate on Earth
• The venom is so powerful that your muscles will paralyze, you'll be in excruciating pain
for between 4 and 24 hours, then you will inevitably die because there is no known antidote
• Yet somehow the puffer fish is still a delicacy in Japan and Korea, though only certified
chefs are allowed to prepare it 14 - The Brazilian Wandering Spider
• Also known as the banana spider, it's been commonly referred to as the most venomous
spider in the world currently known to exist • They frequent tropical South America,
but one species inhabits Central America, and they're responsible for more human deaths
than any other spiders • They hide in houses, clothes, boots and
cars, then they strike with a venom so powerful that it can cause an overwhelming blood to
pump into your ***, resulting in permanent impotence
• That's right, this damn spider can kill your ***
13 - Platypus • You thought these Australian mammals were
cute fuzzy little teddy bears? Think again, the male's hind legs are covered in a highly
poisonous venom that can kill a dog, and severely mess up you or me
• It'll paralyze you, possibly for months, all the while in excruciating unbearable pain
• You can also develop edema on the wound, when fluids build up beneath your skin and
swells the affected area to huge sizes 12 - Stonefish
• This is officially recognised as the most poisonous fish on Earth
• It lures its prey by pretending to be a rock, mostly around shallow tropical waters
in the Indian and Pacific oceans • Then the dorsal fins activate, spines
filled with toxic venom kill any who dare step near
• The curious thing is, if a human foot steps on it for example, it'll inject an amount
of venom proportional to the amount of pressure applied to its body
11 - Deathstalker Scorpion • These nightmare creatures walk through
North Africa and parts of the Middle East • Though it's small, one sting will cripple
a human adult male, and likely kill an infant or elderly person
• Likewise, the FDA hasn't approved an anti-venom, and even if they did, the deathstalker's venom
is highly resistant • Unrelated though still an interesting
little fact: the Deathstalker can glow in the dark, mainly to confuse would-be predators
10 - Marbled Cone Snail • These snails look like a lot of nice shells
you might find on the beach, but the marbled cones which have snake-like patterns tend
to employ a nasty trigger mechanism • When someone picks it up, it shoots venom
so powerful that it can kill 20 humans • You may not even realise at first, but
after a few days you'll experience excruciating pain, swelling, numbness, tingling, muscle
paralysis, vision problems, breathing failure and on rare occasions: death
9 - Irukandji • Found in Australia, these things are tiny,
1cm cubed, the size of a fingertip, but the venom is secretes is by no mean weak
• Because of its small size, it slips past protective nets and strikes, a nasty little
sting, but very soon afterwards you get muscle cramps, back pain, kidney burn, skin burn,
headaches, sweating, vomiting and blood pressure spikes
• That's because the venom is designed to emulate the feeling of impending death, and
there is no antidote, only time 8 - Inland Taipan
• Also known as the "fierce snake" found in central Australia, a country which apparently
houses ever organic death-mobile ever, the Taipain is without a doubt the world's most
poisonous snake • A single bite could kill 100 humans, all
in less than an hour • Fortunately the Taipan rarely attacks
unless physically disturbed, and anti-venom is abundant
7 - Atracinae • Another Australian spawn of hell, the
funnel-web is a nasty dark hairless carapace-covered spider notoriously hostile to anything that
moves • The funnel-webs have a large array of
atracotoxins and some are less harmful than others, but a bite will still cause sweating,
tingling, twitching, a racing heart, muscle spasms, acidosis and hypertension
• The female funnel-webs don't have anywhere near the venomous power compared to males
though 6 - The Poison Dart Frog
• This one lives deep in the rain forests of Central and South America
• Like most frogs, it secretes goo to keep itself moist, but the poison dart actually
stores poison on its skin, which will sicken, harm or kill anything that touches or eats
it • The venom itself could kill a human with
naught but a pin head-sized drop • This is considered the most poisonous
vertebrate on Earth 5 - King Cobra
• Though the Taipan is the world's most poisonous snake, the King Cobra is the longest
snake filled with venom, and it earned the nickname "snake-eater" because it eats other
snakes • The venom is so powerful that not only
can it kill a human in one bite, it can kill an entire elephant providing it can reach
a tender area like the trunk • Though the venom isn't as powerful as
competitors in this list, the key here is the King Cobra can inject what venom it can
5 times faster than most other snakes, and not to mention these are quite widespread
across the globe 4 - Southern Short-Tailed Shrew
• The cutest little killer on the list by far, this shrew is mouse-sized, furry and
adorable • But it's also got a deadly venomous bite,
strong enough to kill animals its own size: insects, spiders, scorpions, rodents, reptiles
and snails • Though it isn't enough to kill humans,
one bite will cause massive swelling, throbbing pain and muscle problems
3 - Blue-Ringed Octopus • Like the shrew, this one is small, only
the size of a golf ball, but with venom still powerful enough to kill 26 humans at once
• They're one of 3 species that live in the Pacific Ocean, and these things stay camouflaged
to feed on crabs and shrimp • But when provoked, it flashes yellow,
blue markings, and then, it will sting you, and you WILL die
2 - The Portuguese Man o' War • This one is swept up onto beaches since
it can't move itself, a weird transparent mohawked jellyfish
• In reality though, it's a home for micro organisms called zooids - like little water
sandkings • These zooids can unleash a powerful venomous
stinger to all nearby, until the tide can sweep their home back out to sea
• Course, the general rule about avoiding blobby bizarre tentacle things in the water
applies, so you may want to leave these guys alone
1 - Box Jellyfish • This is without a doubt the world's most
venomous animal, with nearly 6000 deaths caused since the 1950s
• But it's not a swift and painless death, no , the toxins will attack your heart, nervous
system and skin cells - it will physically destroy you from the inside out and you'll
either go into shock, drown or die of heart failure before anyone can help you
• There is virtually no chance to survive unless treated immediately
• And, like all of Satan's beloved monstrosities, it resides on the shores of Australia
