I'm Courtney Matlick with Stahls' CAD-CUT® Direct. Decorating team uniforms with 2 color
names and numbers is fast easy and profitable. But apparel decorators often stay away from
this type of decoration, because the longer dwell times or the alignment troubles can
cause you headaches or lost profits. Today we'll take a look at how CAD-CUT Thermo-FILM®
can help meet these decorating challenges. Thermo-FILM® has a fast multi-color application
and a hot peel release, so you can create 2-color names and numbers for the same amount
of time that it takes to create single color with other heat transfer materials. Let's
take a look. I'll start by loading my garment onto the heat press. I'm using the Hotronix®
Air Fusion™, so it's a fully threadable machine. This helps speeding up production
as well; cause it will make it easier for me to put my names and numbers on the jersey.
A quick preheat and then I can align my first color. For my background layer I'm just going
to place it down and tack it for 2 seconds. Shortening the dwell time here will, I'll
be able to line up my designs much quicker. It's also a hot peel release so it's fast.
For my second color, I'm going to increase my dwell time to 8 seconds. This will ensure
that I'm able to line up my designs and heat press for the full temperature to get a durable
design on the garment. Again after the 8 seconds it's just another quick hot peel release and
I've got the front of my garment complete. Now again, since I've threaded this on the
machine, I can quickly spin it around to heat press the back. Pre-heat the back of my garment
and then I'll line up my first color the blue. Again just like the first color we're going
to do a 2 second tack here. This short dwell time will make it easier for me to line up
my second color, so that I won't have any shrinkage or reduced vinyl on the bottom from
a longer dwell time under the heat press. For my second layer, you can see that this
has a clear repositionable carrier, so its easy for me to line up this design. I don't
have to worry about it being straight or having any trouble with alignment. Again the 8 seconds
to make sure that I get the full dwell time down on the garment, so I have a durable print.
And a fast hot peel release. And I have a completed garment. So there you have it, the
quickest and easiest way to get 2 color names and numbers on a jersey. Thermo-FILM® not
only has a great multi color application, but it's also durable and abrasion resistant.
So you can use it on any of your uniforms from football and lacrosse, to basketball
and baseball. If you're decorating nylons, it also has a nylon formula called Thermo-GRIP®.
