Oh my God! So exciting. You're opening the BAFTAs, are you?
I am opening the BAFTAs, yes. I'm performing a song called Heroes. It features off of my
new album Demonstration, and Laura Mvula is on it and when I made it as well, I kind of
had a James Bond theme in mind, and I was like they're never going to ask me to make
one, so let me make my own one, and then this opportunity came out of that, so I'm really
happy. I'm over the moon. I'm very nervous as well because it's not what I'm used to,
but it's going to be phenomenal. It's going to be great.
Now, if you could have been in one of the films this year because you absolutely loved
it, which one would it be?
Do you know what? Wow, I really liked Captain Phillips. I like Captain Phillips. I liked
how intense it was. A lot of the acting was done in like confined spaces, so they were
on a ship for a really long time, and then they were in a little lifeboat type of thing
and for that, it was very incredible, so I would have probably not minded being one of
the pirates on the ship.
Oh, I like that. Now, there are tons of amazing talented people here tonight. Who will you
secretly fan boy over, but try and act very cool when you see them?
Wow. Well, you know I'm really of Steve McQueen, and I'm really proud of Chiwetel Ejiofor for
12 Years a Slave, you know, I think it's a very brilliant film, and it's an important
film of our time, so I definitely will be a little bit like, but I will be like inside.
But again, Oprah Winfrey apparently is coming, and if she comes then it's all over. I'm going
to be on the phone to my mum, talking about... Mom, speak to us. Say hello to Oprah. I'm
going to try anyway.
I love that. Well enjoy tonight. You look fabulous.
Thank you. Enjoy. Congratulations.
