Tango Sixty-seven to One-twenty.
One-twenty receiving, Tango Sixty-seven.
Rodger. Re-entering the busway southbound near Leech Highway.
Rodger that Sixty-seven. One-twenty out.
Tango sixty-seven out.
Now's a good time to check if any debris or
obstructions are gathered in the bus lanes overnight.
Looks like there'vs been some more instances of rock-throwing down south.
I'll roster some extra guards there this week.
Let's see. Greg is new, so I'll give him some shifts with
Lisa and she'll be able to pass on some of her experience.
That he'll complete his surveillance module and then he'll be fully licenced.
Most of our clients are from shopping centres and bus companies.
As operations manager, I'm in charge of sixty security guards, dealing
with schedules, training, clients and the occasional complaint.
Hmm, the latest reviews are in.
This officer here, he's been with us for two months now.
Says here he needs a shave; obviously he missed shaving that morning.
Fairly polite to the public.
After a period of unemployment, I started as a junior
officer four years ago and worked my way up to management.
My frontline experience helps me deal with the staff,
but it's still important to listen to their concerns.
Hello Ken, how are you today? G'day Geoff, not bad, yourself?
Oh very good thanks. How's everything been this morning?
Oh, fairly quiet except for an alleged female shoplifter in action.
Customer reported that she saw this woman steal a tray of maple.
I didn't see her do it so there's nothing I can do about it.
It will be in the O.R.report and I'll let my oncoming partner know about
it as well so if she comes back we'll know what to look for.
Excellent, thank you Ken. Alright, mate, catch you later.
This person has been hanging around for a long time. I'll ask him to move along.
Check your peripheral vision, make sure there's no one attacking from
behind and be aware of other witnesses - it can be critical if I overreact.
Hello, sir, how are you today? Good, mate.
Look, it's shopping centre policy for all public to
keep their feet off the seats whilst sitting on them.
Is there any chance I could get you to do that?
Aw, I've just got my girlfriend in the shops at the
moment and I'll leave in about five minutes, alright?
Nah, I need you to keep your feet on the floor until your girlfriend does arrive.
What seems to be the problem?
It's shopping centre policy to make sure people have their
feet on the ground so other people can utilise the seats.
There's older people that need to use the seat also, and it's not a bed, it is a seat.
I'm leaving, that's it.
Thanks a lot. Don't worry about it, alright? Enjoy the rest of your day.
Ninety-five per cent of situations are resolved with good communication
and a polite, respectful approach. There's no point acting like a cowboy.
Hello ma'am, how are you today?
Oh, hello, I'm fine thank you, how are you?
I'm not too bad, thank you. Would you like a hand with your shopping?
Oh, that'd be so kind of you. Not a problem. Thank you very much.
Most people don't realise that customer service is a big part of the job.
It brings business back to the centre, and that keeps the clients happy.
There you go, ma'am, that's the rest of the shopping in your boot now.
You've been a great help, thanks very much.
Not a problem, enjoy the rest of your day.
From this location we can monitor activity at all local bus stations.
Hello Tony, how are you? Good thanks, Geoff.
Mate, I believe we had some problems with the satellite
dish last Sunday. Got damaged or something like that?
Satellite dish was around this section here, it was sprayed with paint.
Okay, and what have we done with the satellite dish now?
I've put the satellite dish up here onto the main arial pole, to keep it
out of harm's way and damage from other people who want to climb up there.
Okay, excellent, alright, thanks for that, Tony. No worries, Geoff.
While I'm here, I'll check that the bus drivers
are keeping to the safe speed around the station.
Now, it should be slowing down to 45. Okay, that's good again, 45.
With my partner on board the bus and myself tailing,
we're ready to contain any late-night threats.
Our duty is to protect people and property.
Once an offender is removed, we can walk away.
Only experience can truly teach you how to deal the dangerous or uncomfortable situations.
Time to do the weekly memo.
The staff enjoys hearing positive feedback, and I can let them
know about the traffic management course being run next month.
It's important to keep my colleagues up-to-date with their training.
I didn't realise this job would be such a good training ground.
Should I ever decide to pursue another profession, I have established
skills in public relations, financial management and organising personnel.
