On behalf of Expert Village my name is Evan Griffiths and I'm Rebecca Shulman. We're at
Dance Manhattan in New York City, and we're going to teach you a little something about
the Argentine Tango. When you dance tango, you start right in front of your partner with
your feet neatly together. Stand up tall and you form an embrace, and abrazo as they in
Spanish. It could be a very close embrace or a more open. A close embrace looks like
this. A more open embrace has space between our bodies like this. The leader is wrapping
his left hand around the follower’s right hand. Those fingers are kind of reaching to
complete a circle as if he's surrounding me and protecting me. The same thing is true
if you dance closer. In a close embrace, we're chest to chest, and our hips stay a little
bit apart and our feet stay apart so we have space to wiggle around and dance.
