Hi, my name's Tina Stull, and I drive the top dragster for Interstate Batteries. On
behalf of Expert Village, today I want to talk about the driver's equipment. So now
we're talking about suits. There are tons of manufacturers out there. Right here I have
examples of Impact Racing, I have Sparkle Racing, and I have Simpson Racing. All three
of these manufacturers make both one and two piece suits. One of the nice things about
the two piece suit is you can wear the pants up in the staging lanes, and if you're stuck
up there for a longer period of time, you're not as warm, or you're not dragging the top
half of your suit around with you. Check with each. Try on the different suits because there's
quite a bit of difference between--they're all five layer suits, and there's a tremendous
difference between which ones are more comfortable and also which ones are cooler and handle
the temperature better. And they're just getting better and better with that. The styles are
this, a completely customized suit. This one is a Sparkle suit, it's made over in Italy,
and it took a long time to get, but it's exactly what I ordered. They, its custom made completely
to you. In the event that you have a sponsor, in my case they designed the suit and then
they gave it to me and said go get it. And so, I needed to go with a fully custom suit,
and so that's that one. This one here was an off the rack suit, but you're still able
to customize with patches. You can embroider these suits, but you need to make sure the
embroiderer is accustomed to working with this because you have to have the fireproof
thread as well. Most of these companies will customize for you. You can write in and tell
them what you want sewn onto it, and they'll sew it on for you. So, really, it comes down
to personal preference, what you want, maybe what your sponsors need from you, and the
main thing is they're all rated the same, so you're going to go out and race and know
that you're safe.
