What's up, beautiful people? It is your homegirl, Shameless, all up in your building, bathroom, kitchen, living room.
Shameless Sundays! New segment where I try to inspire you and call upon within you the greatness that lies within you.
Okay, so I did this blog post almost a year ago.
My blog/site is so old, I'm going to update it.
But before I started this channel, I was studying Jesus Christ, I was studying Bruce Lee, I was studying Albert Einstein,
Michael Jackson, Beyonce; I studied Oprah, Martha Stewart, Andy Warhol, Dr. Seuss, Beethoven, Shakespeare.
There are so many so study out there; and I learned a lot and it actually inspired me to be shameless.
Because when I studied them, the common through-line that they had to me, was they were shameless.
What I've noticed with the greats, are that they have this incredibly heart-wrenching story.
When life throws challenges in your face, I used to freak out and be so frustrated.
Like, 'why is this happening to me? What did I do to deserve this?'
And I would be so freaking mad... at God. Like, 'why would you do this to me? I didn't do anything.'
And then I realize that every great person has had awful things happen to them.
Injustice after injustice happens to these amazing people, and the reason why they are amazing is because they were able to look beyond that and look at their situation and look at it as a stepping stone
to their tale, to their story, to their legacy.
But we only see the positive stuff, because we don't want to talk about the craziness.
On Instagram, you never see people instagramming photos of their divorce paper, you don't see people instagramming photos of bruise marks that their husband or their boyfriend left on them,
you don't instagram drugs, you don't do that. You instagram the happy moments. You cherish those moments.
Everyone is a human being and everyone has their own personal struggle and demons to overcome.
But keep in mind that just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Oh, Frida Kahlo! Oh my God, you need to study her!
She is an artist, extraordinaire diva, okay, and she spent her early years in hospitals.
She had her leg amputated.
Miscarriages. This woman has been in it and through it.
But despite all of that, she still created. She still made paintings.
And if anything, all of that hardship allowed her to create masterpieces.
They are human beings. We are all human beings; we are all flawed and we all have the same struggle. We all have demons that we fight.
Life throws things at you, and you have an option.
You can either allow it to defeat you, or you can rise above it and be this supreme human being with super powers.
So I personally chose the latter, because being defeated and being that person is a waste of a life.
Life is such an amazing gift. And it's such a short experience before we go on to the next phase of whatever.
If you think your life is a big boo-hoo, I got news flash for you, boo boo! All of the greats.
And the other thing I wanted to share with you that I discovered; they were able to rise and overcome their situation, but they also continued to create and produce.
Which to me says that they had faith in themselves. AKA love, AKA God, AKA Allah, AKA awesomeness.
My advice to you lovelies is to study the greats. I have a link to my old blog post that I posted a year ago.
Maybe it will help you. Maybe it will spark some inspiration.
All the greats are shameless, and they be doing.
Do. Do, do, do. They created hit after hit after hit after hit--
How many songs does Michael Jackson have? How many songs does Beethoven have? How many plays does Shakespeare have?
How many books has Dr. Seuss written? How many pieces has Any Warhol created?
We all have our own journey and path. And I think try to keep your mind open to the possibilities.
Because greatness comes in all shapes and forms; art and creativity as well.
It's not just something you do with your hand, it's something you do with your mind.
So be a master of your life, and create with your life!
I hope this helps you guys. Study the greats--you are great. You all have greatness within you.
It's just all a matter of perspective and the choices that you make; are you going to allow something to defeat you?
Or are you going to rise above and fly? Fly Robin, Fly! Soar!
That's it!
Make sure you guys remember to do you, be you, and stay true.
Be shameless.
I am the greatest!
Okey-dokey now!
Glasses on or off? Not that these do anything because there are holes.
It's kind of like a bracelet for my face. Around my eyes.
Yay or nay? Yay. Nay.
Yay? Yay?
