Hi Everyone, my name is Sarah Bear-Eberhardt, and I am going to take just a minute to show
you how to take down an old syllabus, and replace it with a new one. Go ahead and log
into Carmen, and select the course where you want to make the change. Click on content,
and find where your course syllabus is located. We we've got our course syllabus located under
a module called Course Information. If I have already revised my syllabus offline [Microsoft]
Word or Adobe [or any other word processing program], all I need to do is click the down
arrow beside the title of the old syllabus, and click Delete Topic. This [action] will
pop up a window asking you whether you want to delete the content from the page you are
looking at, or if you want to delete it from the entire course. If you delete it from the
page you are looking at, your students will not be able to see this. It will, however,
remain on the back side of the course files. Your students will not have access to it,
but you will in case you want to refer back to it at a later date. Choose your selection,
and click delete. Now we are ready to upload the new syllabus. So click "New." Click "Upload
Files." Make sure that "My Computer" is selected, and click "Upload." Locate where your syllabus
has been saved, and you can double click on the file. You will see it appear, then, here.
Click "Done." You will see that your syllabus has appeared. To double check to make sure
that it is the correct one, you can click on the link. It will open up, and you can
verify that it is the correct file. You can go back by clicking on the name of the module
at the top, and again see it. That is how you can delete an old syllabus, and upload
a new one if you already have revised your syllabus. Please do not hesitate to contact
me or Joni Tornwall if you have any questions regarding this process.
