Hi my name is Glen, I am supervisor of the buoy maintenance of the yard in St-John’s Newfoundland.
What we just video taped is a maintenance site of a 1.8 meter buoy.
What we’ve actually done is brought the buoy in the shop using our 30 ton crane.
(Music)
Once we have the buoy inside the shop, we disassembly;
(Music)
we put the buoy in the sand blast booth, sand blasted it,
(Music)
moved it to the painting facility and done some spray painting.
(Music)
We reassemble the buoy and put it back in service.
As you can see this is a very busy year,
we do more than buoy maintenance, we do a lot of ship servicing,
we do a lot of crane work for preparing the icebreaker for Arctic service
and plus the buoy maintenance ships. We do welling for the ships as well as on the buoys.
