Hey what's up guys.
Welcome back to another episode from Tasty Sauces dot com. I'm your host Billy D
and today were are going to check out to all natural chunky salsas.
The first one we have is Drews Organic Chunky Salsa
This was actually made by a chef who was
in the restaurant business for a real long time and
his salsas became so popular there is a big demand for it so he decided
start expanding into the bottled salsa and salad dressing business.
And the other one we have is Trader Joes version. If you look at the name it says
trader joses but this is one of their
chunky salsas
Let's go ahead and check these guys out.
now look at the Drews Organic Salsa. Its ingredients are tomatoes,
fresh tomatoes, jalapenos, garlic, cilantro,
lime juice,
cider vinegar, sea salt,
cumin and black pepper
Let's give it a nice little shake for the taste test.
Hmm, its got a really fresh smell.
That is one of their big things with Drews
Salsas they try to use all fresh ingredients.
It is really not
too overly chunky when you think about chunky
I am normally not a huge chunky fan so
let's see how it goes
that's really good
I normally don't like chunky salsa like I said but
It has got a real
kind of like a sweet taste to it.
everything's really fresh
the heat is not too outstanding or anything but it is definitely pretty taste.
personal preference scale
I am going to give this one a
4 out of 5 and on the heat scale there is really not that much heat on it.
So on the 1 to 10 scale I probably would give this one a 2 on heat.
but very good stuff, I definitely recommend it
Now to Trader Joes salsa
let's see what they got in here. They got
tomato puree, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, salt, distilled
vinegar,
garlic
and paprika
I'm struggling with this one.
I am looking weak on camera here, hold on, let me give it one last try. There we go.
It has a nice little aroma to it.
So
it is about the same consistency of the Drews salsa.
not too chunky but definitely some nice chunks in there.
nice rich color to it
It has got a pretty good little taste to it.
Everything is real fresh. It doesn't taste
quite as fresh as the Drews Salsa
but it's still pretty tasty.
I am not detecting a whole lot of heat from it though.
The taste is pretty good on it
personal preference scale
this one would probably be a 3.5 out of 5 just a little underneath Drews Salsa.
And as far as the heat level spiciness of 1 to 10
there is really not that much heat to it. I would give this one a 2.
But if you guys have tried either one of these salsas out definitely let me know what you guys think
and
don't forget
the right sauce makes all the difference.
