Okay, now we are ready to finish off the bottom of the skirt. I've switched back over to my
Serger. I'm going to look on my skirt and find the shortest strip, because your skirt
can only be as long as your shortest strip. Unless you're going for a fairy style, with
lots of different layers or something. Generally, you're stuck with whatever is the shortest.
What I'm going to do is just go ahead and lineup that edge and go ahead and start going.
(Sewing Machine) Now I have to cut all the excess off of these so that they are the same
length that way as they're approximately so. It's going to have another one of those strips
that's the same length that I can gage this by which is, will help me to stay the right
length. We're going to get about halfway through here, so you want to flip it, spin it around.
Now these angled pieces get a little funny because they're not quite at the angle that
you would need it to be able to just go straight across it. This one you got to kind of work
into a circle at the bottom a little more. So I can see this edge here is where I need
to come up. The same thing is going to go on this corner here, kind of work it so it's
at the bottom. I'm going to cut off all this white on the bottom, that little excess. Then
when I get to the edge I can see where I got to angle back up. Same with this, you got
to kind of cut through that corner again. Then back to the beginning and go ahead and pull it out. You want to go ahead and
get that out. And then we're also going to finish off the edge of the straps. I'm just
going to use the Serger, you can use yours, flip them inside for a neater edge. Flip them
in like that and use your sewing machine but since we did this one a little bit more relaxed
style we'll go ahead and finish this off with the Serger. It still gives you a nice clean
edge there, once you get all these strings clipped. Same thing on the other side, and
then you're going to want to clip all your strings and check for errors. And if you have
any spots. Make sure that all the way through you don't have any holes because once in a
while you'll get one material that slides out and you'll get a spot in it that's not
closed and then all you need to do is flip it inside out, find the spot, and redo that
spot.
