Mike Sweeney: We’re with Benjamin Moore Paint, and we’re starting our second year
of our community service program Color Care Across America. We’re doing an interior
paint and color makeover. We’re doing this not only here in Santa Fe, we’re doing it
in 50 states and a disabled veteran in each state and the District of Columbia.
Phillip Chavez: Well I received an e-mail asking that veterans apply for a Benjamin
Moore makeover, and so me and my wife applied for it and we were accepted for the program.
Oh I figured that we’d probably get a few gallons of paint left at the doorstep and
we could work with that, but they’ve done everything. It’s just it’s amazing.
Tish Fitzgerald: I’ve gotten to know the family through the color selection and visiting
with them about what they needed painting. And over the course of working on that, I’ve
really gotten to know them a little bit and learned a little bit about their family. Wonderful
people. I couldn’t be more delighted that we’re here doing something to give back
to them.
Mayor David Cross: I appreciate this kind of effort. You know almost nobody in our society
is a veteran, but those that are veterans we really need to thank them and we need to
reach out and help them. And Benjamin Moore’s done that with this project setting an example.
Jared Ashcraft: I’m happy to be a part of this project. I think it’s a great way to
reach out to the community and to the vets and just a way to give back.
Miriam Freeman: We just really want to help the community, and we just think it’s great
what they’ve done for us. I mean we just want to tell them thank you, and we just think
this is a great way to give back and tell them thanks for all that they’ve done for
us.
Elana Dominguez: We are contributing all the tile and all the labor for the Chavez family,
and part of it is just to give back to the community and for him serving our country.
Mike Sweeney: I want to give extreme thanks to Tish. She’s been the glue pulling this
project together for our company. The unsung heroes of this project are the sales reps
like Tish, and I thank Jared Ashcraft and Bond Paint for being so generous and supplying
the products. Thankful to the Chavez family for letting us participate in doing their
home and just very proud of our company to be able to give a little bit back to the people
who give so much for our country.
Phillip Chavez: You know I just want to thank Benjamin Moore. They’ve been such a blessing
