Hi everyone, it's Alejandra. And I am sitting here inside my bathroom and I want to show
you my new makeup setup that I have inside my bathroom that's super easy to use. It's
convenient, it's accessible, it maximizes space, and I am just loving it.
So whenever I get ready in the morning, I'm always sitting here on top of the toilet and
I have my mirror right here and I bring my makeup here to come and look in the mirror
and just apply everything because this is like the best lighting. This is where - yeah,
the best lighting is in the bathroom.
So instead of having to get up from here and like go get each like makeup item and bring
it back, I wanted everything - I want to bring everything to me. So what I've done here is
I have put all of my makeup in this little slim cart that just hangs out on the side
of the wall right here. It's only about six inches wide which means it's not going to
take up all of this like a walking space right here in the bathroom. So I love it. It's on
wheels and all I can do is just like when it's time to get ready and do my makeup, I
just bring it over here and then I just wheel it over, and it's super convenient because
everything just comes with you and you have everything right there.
All I did here was I got these little acrylic organizers. There are four sections inside
of this one container and I just got two of them. They fit perfectly inside. And I'm putting
all of my brushes, my liners, my lipsticks, my tweezers, my scissors, anything that's
like small and tall, I'm putting inside of here. And when I got these, I immediately
thought of those little pebbles or those little rocks that you see at Sephora. Like when you
go to Sephora, they have all the makeup brushes and they're all inside these nice pebbles
that keep it from falling over and stuff.
And so, I went online to try and look for them and they're kind of expensive and they're
hard to find. And so, I was trying to think like what else can I do without having to
go out and buy something else? So I decided to try using rice just like rice from the
pantry. I tried putting it inside and then I put everything inside of it and then I realized
that I should probably rinse the rise because a lot of the grains were kind of - like it
was kind of a powdery substance was coming out. So I rinsed the rice. I let it dry overnight
and then I put it inside here and then I put everything like inside of each section and
it's working wonderfully. None of them was like the powder is not getting on any other
cosmetics or anything. So I was quite pleased about that.
Over here, I have all of my bronzers, concealers, foundations, lotion here, eye makeup remover
here, Q-tips here, and then on the side right here, I mounted a magnetic strip just like
this. This is from The Container Store. It comes in different colors. I just mounted
it with double size-sided mounting tape and then I put all of my bobby pins on these little
magnets because these things are magnetic so you can just go like that. And it's an
easy way to store your bobby pins and they're super accessible and they now have a home.
And then down here, I found these little Sterilite organizers. You can just get this at Target,
Wal-Mart, or maybe even Dollar Store. But they fit perfectly inside of here when you
put them vertically just like that. So I use these organizers for my blush, my eye shadow.
This is kind of just like an open section. I just have a little divider in place to kind
of hold these bins over here so they don't slide over here. And then I have more eye
shadow down there.
And then at the very bottom, it's where I have all of my travel cosmetics and toiletries.
So there is like packets of shampoo, conditioner, and then there is like little Shout removers,
there is body wash and then there is hairspray, hair gel and stuff. And I'm still using these
little containers down here just like that because they fit so nicely. And then I just
took my label marker and I put a clear label on the very back of the bin so I know exactly
what goes where.
OK. And then wrapping around the cart, I wanted a place to put all of my claws for when I'm
doing my hair that would be out of the way and it would be easy to access, easy to put
away because these things - I feel like if you don't store them correctly, they might
break because they're so delicate and fragile and stuff.
So all I did was wrap bungee cord. I just took colored bungee cord that I got from,
I think it was G Street Fabrics. That's the only place that sells colored bungee cord
other than like black which you can only get at Home Depot. So I took bungee cord, wrapped
it around really nice and tightly and then I put all the claws right there.
And then on the side of the cart, I think this is the coolest idea out of everything.
I took leftover door pockets that I had to cut down in my last house just like cut them
and I kind of just clipped them to the side of the cart. The cart had like a little cover
right here to kind of - I don't know had like a wall cover right here to kind of - I don't
know what the cover is for, just to over it. But I just took the cover off and I took a
binder clip just like this from my office, and I clipped it, the door pockets just like
that. So now, they're not going to fall down.
And then I put bungee cord in the middle of it so it will just hold it in place. And I
thought that was really creative because now I have a place for all of my pony tail holders
and all of my elastic headbands. And then of course, I just put a little label on the
very front so I know what goes in and what section.
And then I did the same thing on the other side. You can't really see it here but I just
did the same thing for some of my larger headbands like some of - like these ones that you wash
your face. You hold your hair back to wash your face. And then down here is like your
standard, typical, regular headbands just like that. But I just love this cart. I love
how I can just bring everything to me instead of having to get up and go get everything
and bring it back. It's just - it's all together and it's easy to access.
And I kind of feel like when I was setting it up like you know when you go to a nail
salon and you're getting a pedicure and the nail technician just like rolls a cart over
to your station and they have everything right there. Everything is convenient and easy to
access and stuff. I kind of feel like it was the same setup. So I don't know. Yeah, it's
like the same setup.
So anyways, I hope this video was helpful. When you're organizing your cosmetics, what
you want to do is group like with like. So you can go to one section to grab one category
of items and yeah, just make everything easy to access.
So I hope this video was helpful. If you want more organizing tips or more organizing videos,
