This is Mongolia, the long ago home of Genghis Khan.
To its northwestern border lie Altai Mountains.
With average altitude of 3,700 meters,
it is truly a pristine place free from the contamination of civilization.
The animals that are lightly jumping all over the rocky precipice are ibexes.
Ibex (Wild goat)
They are a type of wild goats.
The horns of these goats are like tree rings.
Each ring-shaped ridge represents a year of the goat's life.
The horns can grow to 70 centimeters and even up to 1 meter,
if the goat survives to fully live out its life expectancy.
The law of the jungle applies everywhere.
And Altai Mountains are no exception.
Wolves are one of the predators that live in Altai Mountains.
The young or the isolated prey always makes wolves come running.
If this wolf gets lucky, it may get to consume a delicious wild goat today.
The scent of blood all over the rock mountain
calls forth another predator.
The foxes, long since extinct in Korea,
live freely in the wilderness of Altai Mountains.
There are even those who gain much
without having to work for it when the carnivorous animals go on hunt.
They are eagles.
Eagles are the sweepers of the wild.
They take care of the scraps left by the predators.
In the wild, someone's death brings life to someone else.
This is the law of survival that has long ruled Altai Mountains.
In this land of the wild,
the snow leopard is at the top of the food chain.
Many things about the snow leopard are still wrapped in a mystery.
However, it is an endangered species that is slowly disappearing from the earth.
Just like its unstable future,
its life on the rocky precipices is also hard.
It was a very dangerous moment.
Then again, maybe to these survivals of the wild,
a safe place never existed in the first place.
