If you are looking for people, DemographicsNow is your ultimate source.
Using DemographicsNow, you can search for an individual, a friend, a relative – or
create a market research list from over 206 million U.S. residents in over 135 million
households. Search by name, address, or telephone – or
by a variety of U.S. Census neighborhood data averages.
There are two search options available to locate people: the household quick search
and the household custom search. The Household Quick Search is a great search
to use if you know the person’s name or phone number and quickly want to access their
profile. The second option is the “Household Custom
Search”. The custom search provides a list of options
available in order to create a custom list. Here, you can generate a list of households
by specifying criteria such as name, phone number or area code, special selects from
the US Census, or a reverse lookup street address.
Let’s try a “Household Custom Search” now.
First, I am going to enter in the name of the person I am looking for.
For this example we will use the name “John Doe”.
Next I am going to reset my geography selection, changing the default criteria of “entire
US” to the state of Indiana. To do this, I will click on the “edit”
button next to current geography... ...and I will expand the options for “States”
and place a check mark next to the state of Indiana.
For this example, I will limit the geography to one state,
however, please note that you can select up to 16 geographic locations from the list in
any combination (cities, states, counties)
to limit or expand your search query. At any time, as you add or delete criteria
as you create your custom lead list, you can click on the “Update Count” button to
view the number of leads. In this case we have generated a list of 16
people. To view the list, simply click on the “View
Results” button. Now we are looking at a list of people with
the name of John Doe, or households for which a John Doe is a member of.
To view the profile for any person in your list, simply select the individual and click
on the Details button. The details view provides you with address
information, household information, neighborhood information – such as average household
income, median age, median years in residence – and so much more!
You may download this complete list by selecting all people in the list and clicking on the
Download button. This will provide you with options of downloading
the summary or detailed list. To view all of the information about a person,
you will want to download the “Detail report”. It is also important to note that the maximum
number of people that you can download at one time is 100 and the maximum number of
detailed reports you can view on screen at any given time is 10.
Once you download your list it can be refined further in Excel, saved, or uploaded to a
database. And remember, you can also view the results
of your search on a map, by selecting the “view on map” button.
