Hello, my name is Chad Trisler and I am the Resident Director for University Suites
at Boise State University
My day-to-day schedule obviously
change depending on the day of the week, but
in general I get up at around 8:00 am or 8:15 am
and get ready, I'm usually at the office by 9:00 am
and depending on the day I will have meetings scheduled
with students who have questions about Housing
or conduct meetings
The RD's (Resident Directors) usually get together for lunch at around noon
at the cafeteria, which is a lot of fun we get to
see the students and enjoy the delicious Aramark cuisine
5:00pm, I usually try to get out of the office
I'll have dinner, sometimes I'll cook at home
or the RD's might be cooking dinner and we'll go over there
I try to workout in the evenings around 6:00 pm or 6:30 pm
depending on the day I may come back if there are programs
that are being planned
or if Hall Council has a meeting
or University Housing Association meetings
and then usually I watch the news for a little bit and try
to be in bed by 11:00pm
A typical day is what I'll do is I'll wake up
brush my teeth hopefully if I remember
usually grab some cereal, some breakfast
if I don't walk over to the Boise River Cafe (cafeteria)
I'll go into the office, check some e-mails in the morning
make sure I wrap up the to-do list of stuff that's been e-mailed to me over night
of important stuff that happened into the building
usually I head to lunch with some colleagues
or students, usually afternoons are devoted to 1-on-1's
with staff members
committee meetings, judicial meetings,
go down the halls to where students can meet
I like to have that 1-on-1 contact
Usually I'll leave the office at around 4:45pm, or 5:00 pm
depending on the day, in the evenings I'll go to the REC (gym)
work out, spend time with my wife
and then we'll head to bed, usually after 11:00 pm
because my wife has to get up early and work.
