Now you can learn to play your piano right in GarageBand
To get started choose "Learn to Play" from the "New Project" dialog,
then pick a lesson.
The first piano lesson is preinstalled
and you can download the rest of the "Lesson Store".
You can also purchase the artist lessons there.
When you click choose the lesson opens and begins playing.
[Teacher speaking]
In piano lesson one the teacher covers the basics
including key layout, hand position and chords.
You can jump directly to different sections by clicking on the timeline.
And you can repeat parts you want to practice
by clicking the cycle button.
Open the setup window to choose to view notation as chords name
or standard notation.
If you're just learning notation
you can turn on "Easy View"
to see the names of the notes as they appear.
When you feel ready click "Play along"
to play the entire song along with the teacher.
You can repeat sections that you want to practice
and stop playback at any time by pressing the space bar again.
You can also slow down the difficult part of the song
to make it easier to learn.
Than increase the speed until you can play along at the original tempo.
The volume slider lets you change the overall volume of the lesson.
For more specific adjustments
click the mixer button.
