Hello everybody, welcome back to Veenaskitchen.com. Wish you all a very happy new year. This new
year i will be starting a series dedicated to Indian street food. Today I will be showing
you how to make Aloo Tikki which is made of potatoes. It is very popular in the Northern
part of India and is an all time favorite so lets see how this is made.
So to begin making Aloo tikki, in a mixing bowl, take about 2 large potatoes. These are
boiled and mashed potatoes. It is best to boil potatoes along with the skin so that
it does not overcook and become soggy. Now to the boiled potatoes add half a teaspoon
of carom seeds, half a teaspoon of cumin powder, half a teaspoon of black pepper powder, half
a teaspoon of chili powder, one teaspoon of salt or salt as per your taste requirement.
One chili finely chopped, and few coriander leaves. these are chopped coriander leaves.
Now mix it well. Mix it well and nice, I am using my hands
to do so. Now take some mixture and make small balls
of lemon size, and then shape the tikki. Do the same with rest of the mixture.
Take a non stick pan and add 2 table spoon of ghee. After it becomes hot, add the tikki
and shallow fry it till it turns golden brown in color.
Cook it of slow flame, till it turns golden brown in color. Turn the tikki and cook the
other side. Do the same for all of the tikkis.

Alright, aloo tikki is now ready. Switch of the flame and let us now take it in a serving
dish.
