The Man knocking on your door is only the NHK man. Really. This time we are sure. Besides,
The postman doesn’t knock. The New Year has begun in Japan and all over
the world. People are now beginning to get back to work and things are running normally
and smoothly. Nothing out of the ordinary is happening. Nothing at all. Remember, Nothing
out of the ordinary is happening. Those crowds are supposed to be there.
And if you see something, say nothing. It is ordinary. You probably didn’t see what
you thought you saw at all. You certainly didn’t intervene, which was the right thing
to do. It didn’t have anything to do with you anyway. If you ignore it, it will go away.
{upbeat} On a lighter note, There is a holiday on Monday.
I just love holidays, Don’t you? All of the pageantry and strange costumes! Remember
though… It is important to turn your keitai off. You certainly don’t want them to be
attracted to the sound. If anyone knows which holiday is coming up on Monday, please send
us a note and let us know so that we might have the proper bite kits and antidotes ready.
No one around here seems to know which one it is, and we don’t want to be unprepared!!
That last time it just sort of snuck up on us.
Your local grocer wants to let you know that Firefly squid are now available at all locations.
These little gems can liven up any boring January meal. If you are quick you may be
able to *** up some of the live ones for your very own ika odori. Yes, they will dance
and squirm while you eat them. Get to the store now before they are all out! They are
also running a special on squid ink to be used in Pasta sauce. Ah, nothing like black
teeth to show your hosts how much you loved the meal!
In sports news, the “avoid the homeless” games are on in full swing! There isn’t
as much of a challenge this year as it is not yet all that cold. For a more challenging
level of game, try to make it through the area by the zoo. Just. Try.
There is nothing quite like the six weeks after new years. Nothing much going on until
the sake breweries put out their first tastes in February. And it will just be getting colder.
The mercifully short days will limit how long that burning orb in the sky can affect your
skin! For now, the end of this shift has come for
our little community. Stay tuned for eight straight hours of singing
from a random Noh play. Yaop Yaop Oh, I can’t wait.
For today, Oyasumi nasai Japan – vale Oyasumi nasai
This has been Welcome to Japan-Vale. A parody of Welcome to Night Vale but set in Japan
and with situations that are mostly true. If you are interested in seeing more of Welcome
to Japan-Vale, then you will really need to leave a lot of comments. If there is sufficient
interest, I’ll do more. The Sounds for Welcome to Japan-Vale were
made by me. Except for any sound that was NOT made by me, for example the Theme to Welcome
to NightVale which is actually called “The Ballad of Fielder and Mundt” and was made
by Disparition and is used under a creative commons license. See the description for details.
Any other sounds that were not made by the controlled vibration of an area of my throat
were also likely made by Disparition and will be noted in the description as well.
