Episode 3: Day in Bayonne
It's raining!
In the morning we packed the gear until opened the curtain...
... and noticed it's raining. We wont go camping or cycling like was planned.
But the bright side in this is that we didn't carve the day plan to stone plates
and create a religion out of it. Religion, in which every morning, or at least once a week on sundays,
people would pack the stuff, go camping and ride bikes.
And then people would sing about camping and bicycling, too.
I'm happy that we didn't do it and now we can change the plan.
The plan is...
...cultural trip!
Hemen euskara emaiten dugu, says here. It means that here is spoken only Basque.
Well, they don't speak Basque, everybody speaks French.
Basque language does not have any language relatives on globe.
Some American linguist postulated that Basque must come from Atlantis.
And, of course, we believe this theory. Why we wouldn't?
Everything what is somehow related to Atlantis, it must be true!
Here in Bayonne are lot of little chocolate shops.
It's said that there's been even more than in Switzerland.
I just bought different kind of hand made chocolates
Let's taste.
Here you are.
Bar review
This bar is Sidreria Ttipia in Bayonne. Excellent restaurant.
Seats: wooden. Tables: long, wooden and thick.
There are lot of hanging copper pots on ceiling. Very rustic. Great.
A restaurant where cider spurts from the wall can't be bad.
And two meals menu of the day costs 9,50 e.
For desert a slice of chocolate cake and espresso. Awesome!
And let's sample it....
Introduction to French sleeper car.
Three beds on the side like in Germany. This is called couchette.
But French pay more attention to customers comfort. They have put things to this little pocket.
In Germany this was empty! But French know how to surprise.
First, here are bottle of water plus
*reading French with perfect pronunciation*
Which means "all the necessary things for a pleasant journey".
Wet wipes....,
and tissues, that people can wipe residues of baquette and red wine from their face.
I have to test the water quality...
And, of course, it's perfect. It's probably bottled in Pyrenees mountains. It can't be better!
Let's continue the journey to Paris Austerlitz station. Good bye!
