Hello i'm Robin and this is my sleek and glossy comb over 'how to'.
Sleek and glossy.
to create the perfect comb over, you'll need three things.
The first thing is a wax-based product. The wax I use is called Kevin Murphy's Gritty Business.
It holds in place, it's really durable and it's also got a great shine to it.
If you use gel, you are running the risk of having it running down your face if it rains.
A comb. My plastic one here is both wide and fine toothed.
And a hairspray. It makes sure your hair stays in place and that you've got no fly-aways.
To start, make sure your hair is clean and dry.
You need to take about a 10 pence amount of your product.
Warm it in your hands. Warming it up makes sure that the product goes straight through your hair.
Sticky.
You're going to take it from root to tip.
Once it's in, get your comb.
My hair grows from the crown, so I've got to add a side parting.
You're looking for a natural line that you can pop into your hair.
I'm going to go here. Pull some of the hair down and some up, away from the parting.
You can be quite messy with this because you're going to sort it out later.
You're just pushing the hair away from the parting.
I push it back slightly because it gives it more volume.
If you feel like your hair isn't staying down properly, just pop some more product in.
For the bits that stick up...
Use the fine end of the comb. Just pull them down.
Top tip! You can see that I've got some little fly-away bits here.
Get your hairspray and your comb
Spray directly onto your comb, not you hair.
Use the back of the comb
You're not even brushing, you're just pushing.
If you've got any fly-aways on the top, hairspray your hand
and swipe over.
and that is almost it!
Just to ensure that your hair doesn't move during the day or at night, just hairspray it.
Also, if you want to add a bit of shine, hairspray is the perfect thing to do that.
I use Well Silvikrin Classic hairspray. It's cheap and holds it in place
Like no other.
There we are.
You can see that it's got a nice gloss from that wax product and also from the hairspray.
Got it all in position. There's no fly-aways
and it's all sitting perfectly along the side parting that I've added.
And... that's it!
