Hello! Welcome back! In this video I'll show you how to decorate a wooden box. I used two different type of rice paper.
I choosed this type of rice paper because i love flowers and the France. I used the shabby tecnique that gives to the box a vintage effect.
The shabby tecnique is realized using two different acrylic color, in contrast each other. I used a brown and ivory colors.
With a fine sandpaper is removed the upper color: in this case the ivory color.
I made the cracklè effect only in the upper part, on the top. Decorate the wooden box in according to your taste: as always, I give you a suggestion, but every choice is yours!
For the shabby tecnique, you can use any kind of candle.
If you like the work, let me know with a comment! In the info box, you'll find the products list and the useful links. I hope you enjoy the video! Enjoy!
Take a trunck of wood like this. Remove closures with a screwdriver. Then set them apart.
Take the cover of the trunck and color it with a brown acrylic color.
Wth the same color, color the rest of the trunck.
Spread beeswax on the cover, especially on the sides and edges. Spread with a large sponge brush.
Spread beeswax on the rest of the trunck, too.
Color the top of the trunck with a white acrylic color.
Wth the same color, color the rest of the trunck.
Pass the fine sandpaper on the top of the trunck. In this way brings out the brown color.
Then remove dust.
Repeat the same process on the rest of the trunck.
Take a rice paper and cut the figures that we like. Use a cutter to be more precise.
Then glue the figures on the trunck.
With a cutter, cut the rice paper along the line of separation beetween top and the rest. Be very careful to avoid breaking the paper.
On over trunck of wood, spread some matt finishing varnish.
Spread step 1 of cracklè only on the top of the trunck. Let it dry.
Then spread step 2 of cracklè. Let it dry again and form cracks.
Highlight the cracks with some powder.
Remove exces powder.
Protect this part with satin spray varnish.
Then put the closures.
Thanks for watching! I hope you liked this work. Stay tuned for the next tutorial. Bye by
