Pete: Hi everybody, Welcome to Comic Book Club I am Pete
Justin: I am Justin.
Pete: Coming to you live, still, from Bergen comics...
Justin: In Brooklyn, where we both live it is Saturday morning. Pete and I had a great brunch.
Pete: Not true. I would never have brunch with this guy.
Justin: Well, that's unfair. We are going to talk about three great comics Ulitmate Avengers 2 Number
2, Walking Dead number 72 and Galatic Number 1.
Justin: Let's kick it off with Avengers Number 2. Here we are with some angry people.
Pete: Well, what I like about this is that kind of it breaks down the idea of 'Alright, if you are going
to give up your life and become a Superhero'
Justin: Villian
Pete: Yes, Villian. If you do, can you let go of that old life and can you really move on. This is kind
of a fun look at this guy saying "Forget my whole family, forget my friends. I am a villian now. I roll deep."
Justin: I think it is crazy that he is a professor, he is like a nerdy looking professor and then all
of a sudden he gets a taste for gold chains and facial tattoos.
Pete: I think every nerdy professor secretly wants to be that guy.
Justin: So, you Hulk-out and all of a sudden you are going to have some wicked tats?
Pete: If you are a villian then you have to portray this badass kind of thing!
Justin: I am just saying, ink is expensive and it hurts! Whether you are a villian or not it's not the
easiest thing to do. I actually liked this issue alot, much better than the issue focusing on the Punisher.
Sort of a meaner Avengers squad. There has got to be some conflict here with our old Captain America.
Pete: I thought this was a solid issue, the art was fantastic. It was really cool. I liked what they
did with it. I would reccomend it.
Justin: I liked it. The end of the issue, the way the resolve the plot is really cool and I don't usually
like this guy's writing! Alright, let's move on and talk about Walking Dead Numer 72.
Here we are back in the in this palatial world.
Pete: Yeah.
Justin: It is very funny that they are portraying Rick as the bad guy here. He is sort of a jerk.
Pete: Yeah. Well, it is an interesting thing here to talk about. You (comic characters)
have been fighting for your life every minute of everyday.
Justin: That is my life now!
Pete: Now they are in this perfect suburbia and it's like "Oh, well did you like the cheese dip?"
Justin: Yes!
Pete: (Laughs) It is nice to see people freak out and really dealing with issues that have been pent up. Also, how are you going to cope with this now perfect life that you have.
Justin: I don't know, in their situation, sure it is traumatic with the zombies walking around but
if I get a chance to get some cheese dip I am going to enjoy it. Relax a little bit guys, you don't have worry about the guns.
Pete: I would just say that I think eventually what is going to happen is that they are going to settle
in a little bit and then for a little danger go outside and kill some zombies and come back in.
Justin: Oh you think? See, I think....
Yeah, it will be like working out! They will go outside and stab a couple of people and then come back in and feel better about themselves!
Justin: Ahh, like going to the gym! Well, I think that there is going to be a zombie outbreak inside the compound.
Either way this series is great, continues to be good. I am very excited for the AMC (television) series
coming out in the fall and they just keep hyping it. Finally Galactia Number 1. This comic is about Galactius'
daughter. I don't know when he was dating but... uhhh! (laughs)
Pete: (Laughs) Well in between eating whole planets and stuff like that you have time for ladies, there is always time for ladies.
Justin: Yeah, I guess when you bring a date to the planet...
Pete: Yeah, I am going to devour this delicious planet... would you like to come with me?
Justin: Yeah, different flavored planets. Pan-Asian planets are a little spicier... more ginger.
Pete: Uggh... (laughs and shakes head)
Justin: This comic is a little repetitive. We get it! We get the deal!
Pete: If you like young Manga girls then you will like this comic.
Justin: Ahh...Not in like a fetish-y way but in a windsorshin way (sp? reference to schoolgirl outfits)
Pete: Yeah, exactly. If you are like a person who says 'I like girls who look like they are in Manga
comics who like texting and like to make faces with the big eyes and they get all sweaty!
Justin: Sweaty?! (laughs) Well this gets a little repetitive, like I said, we sort of get the point. We don't need to hear it over and over again. The character is very charming though, I would like to see more or Galacta.
Pete: I think you see a little too much of her... if you know what I am saying. She is a little too
young to be rocking that kind of open rack.
Justin: Oh, geez! Pete, is going to raise a sheltered daughter with a long skirt and very buttoned up.
Pete: I am just saying she is a little young to be flashing that much ta-ta.
Justin: Great! Well, let's leave it on that note. Thanks a lot for watching guys. Leave your comments and questions below.
