today's topic is the small business dynamic search so first let's talk
about what is the small business dynamics is and why you should care
about it
the small business dynamics search is a database that contains
all small businesses they're registered in SAM (System for Award Management)
by their NAICS Code
so what does that really mean
it means that
It means that your NAICS code and your revenue
and the number of employees will be dictate or determined if your
business is a small business for the specific NAICS code. You don't get a
designation of small businesses
you know as a umbrella but you get at designated as a small business specific
to make individual the NAICS code. That's important to understand
once you are in SAM by default you are inside of
the small business dynamic search database
If, here is the if
if you have opted out
so the very end of your SAM profile. If you opted out to have you profiled
displayed in public search then you are not inside of the small business dynamic
search.
If you opt in meaning that you allow your profile to be public. Then you will be
in a small business dynamic search.
so why do you even care about the small business? Well
you care about the small business dynamics search because is one of the
places where contracting officers and primes go to look for small businesses
to partner with or small businesses for subcontracting opportunities
so when you do want to be in
the small business search. So you want to opt in on your
SAM profile
the second a thing that is important to understand about the small business
dynamics search
if even after you opt in with in SAM
if you do not go in and
update you are small business dynamic search profile
it will be blank
meaning that it would just have basic information on the information that is
pulled from SAM but not any of the marketing information that you really
want to be inside of the small business dynamic search
so what marketing information and my referring to
Specifically
the capability narrative
a capability in the area within the small business search is
250 word box allow you to input information about
your business or think of it as a a synopsis
What I typically tell people to do it if you come to my SBA seminars you have
heard me say this that a capability statement is your company's resume
so if you don't know how to do a capability statement i'm sure that will
make a Show on
how to create a capability statement or what should be
include
but to this point
at you would have your capability statement right
but a capability narrative summarizes the capability statement so it is not
simply just
pick up from you capability statement and pasted to
that box because that box or that capability box within the Small Business Dynamic Search profile only
only will accept two hundred fifty characters
so you want to be strategic what what you put in their right
that next a thing that's important to note about small business dynamic search
profile is that you can enter references
now SAM can't do that there's no place say "here are my references"
so
in your small business dynamic search you want put in at least
five references
I often see people completely skipped this process or skip
putting in their cable narrative or
putting in their
references
but if you're really serious about competing for government contracts
you probably want to put in your references in there
is just kind of like you have the opportunity we submit your resume..your
capability statement also have the opportunity to submit your references
don't say available upon request just give them to them.
Give them the references that you would use to say here are the folks that i have done business
without that does that necessarily mean that you have to put your references
contact information on there
so

i hope that i have answered your question
first you would go to
your SAM Profile i'd make sure that you opt in and and when you opt in
you will be in the small business dynamic search you have to wait at least
twenty-four to forty-eight hours
before you will
see you profile if you had not opted in before.
once you have opted in
You go to your SAM Profile
right at the very bottom when you save and continue when you almost done
the small business
uh... profile will show up that button will show up and click that button and it will
take you into
the small business dynamic search
Once you are in the small business dynamic search you want to go ahead and update it.
places where you absolutely do not want to skip. you wanna make sure you put
in your capability narrative and your references
