dan incall chester vermont dan you wanted to talk about the police state
that we were just talking with John Whitehead about
yes I do this is this is the reason that bush
one other reasons the Bush started the war in the first place is so that he
could harden these people up
and they would come back here entry civilians
just like they're treating people over there they won't be able to help it
I don't think that george bush has that complex a thought process
not here in the car rolled does well why would Karl Rove any
what I just don't get all police state thing I mean I understand
that that the people and that people in power
a like to protect their power and all that kind of thing I can I get that
but it looks to me like this is more like
you know a car going down a hill and there's nobody in the driver's seat had
to put the brakes on
and and what's propelling it down the hill is the fact that we have had
legislation passed by virtue of lobbying by the military-industrial complex over
the years
that allows the pentagon to buy equipment from
defense contractors very profitable equipment from them like this tank that
Concord New Hampshire wanted and give it
free of charge or a very very cheap prices
to police departments all over the United States I'm not talking about just
big cities like Chicago meant little tiny John serve as john said you know
800 people
and and give it to them free of cost
and as a consequence everybody's arming up all these police department they were
seen as
incredible and rather sudden really when you think about in terms of you know how
long and how all our country is how long it's been around
um a.m. militarization of our police are hyper militant militarization of our
police I think it's just a a dangerous thing but I think it's being driven
by good ol fashion capitalism it's it's the
the ability love the the supreme court said to the defense contractors
you can spank you can give congressman all the money you want and you can spend
all the money you want on their reelection zan you can basically buy
them
and in Citizens United decision and so the defense contractors have done that
and the way that they make money is by arming people and increasingly america's
not busy ask about arming foreign countries
and we're not busy as to give up fighting wars in foreign countries
so what are we doing where r manner on police departments because the industry
has got to make money
and I think that that's the the core this problem Dan thanks for the call
