Hello there unboxers! This is Sakis Karpas from GameOver.gr in another episode of Unboxholics.
Today we will take a look at Razer BlackWidow Ultimate 2013 Greek Edition.
We have already unboxed its predecessor about a year ago which you can view by checking the related link in the description.
This new keyboard by Razer has little but significant improvements over its predecessor.
The retail package features information about the product on it and has the usual design that Razer is known for.
The first item we find inside is the keyboard. We'll leave it aside for now.
As always, Razer includes a black pack that has a manual and a Razer sticker set inside.
Razer BlackWidow 2013 can be connected to a computer via a USB port. As you can see, it has two USB cables since the one is intended for the extra USB port that the keyboard offers.
BlackWidow also has two 3.5mm Audio-Out / Mic-In Jacks.
Keep in mind that the keyboard has a braided fiber cable which means that it is not that flexible.
The first noticeable change when compared to its predecessor is the matte surface which prevents fingerprints.
This is the Greek Edition of the keyboard which means that next to each english letter there is the greek equivalent one.
On the far left, we find the macro keys of the keyboard while it should be noted that all keys are fully programmable through Razer Synapse 2.0.
The media keys are situated on the top side along with extra features such as
These features can be activated by holding the function (FN) button.
One USB port, a microphone port and a headphones port can be found on the right side of the keyboard.
The keyboard's legs can be found on the bottom side.
Razer BlackWidow 2013 uses Cherry MX Blue switches which means that it produces a very loud "clicky" sound.
Moreover, the keys have an optimized actuation force of 50g while they also feature improved anti-ghosting which allows simultaneous use of up to 10 keys.
We noticed that the keys are more robust and that helps a lot in video games.
Razer replaced the blue color of the backlit keys with a green one.
This time around, Razer increased the overall brightness while the brightness level are now 18 instead of 4.
Razer BlackWidow 2013 is available now for €149.99.
The improvements made over the previous Razer BlackWidow are great but not significant enough to worth an upgrade for Razer BlackWidow owners.
Apart from that, the awards that Razer has received for this keyboard speak for themselves.
