Typically K&N Heavy Duty Hybrid Air Filters will need to be serviced once a year, or when
The first step in the cleaning process is to lightly tap off all loose dirt and debris.
An air compressor can also be used to blow air from the clean side out.
Next, spray a generous amount of K&N Heavy Duty Air Filter Cleaner onto both sides of
the filter, with the majority of it applied to the dirty side. Allow to soak in for 20
minutes. Do not allow it to dry on the air filter.
Apply water to the filter’s clean side to wash off dirt and debris with either a pressure
washer or hose. If you have a standard flow filter, spray from the inside out as the dirty
side is outside. If you have a reverse flow filter, spray from the outside of the filter
as the dirty side is inside. If the filter is excessively dirty repeating these steps
may be necessary.
After rinsing, gently shake off excess water. Allow filter to dry naturally, or use compressed
air to help speed the drying cycle. This filter does not require oil and should be dry or
just slightly damp before re-installing. Re-install the filter element back into the housing,
following the original installation instructions.
And finally, reinstall the filter element back into the vehicle. For more information
