Hi, this is Jeff from the Two Wheeler Dealer. Today I'm going to demonstrate how to pedal
the proper revolutions per minute. Main thing with this is to find a comfortable gear that
you can sit and easily just spin the pedals as such. You don't want to be in too hard
of a gear where you're having to exert too much energy, and you're just mashing on the
gears wearing yourself out. You want to find a nice, comfortable rhythm and just stick
with it. Ideal cadence would be between about sixty and ninety revolutions per minute. Right
here I'm probably doing about seventy. It's a good, comfortable spin. I'm not exerting
that much energy. I should be able to ride all day at this cadence without wearing myself
out. If you encounter a hill, you know you basically just shift gears to maintain that
same cadence and pace. You should be able to ride for a very extended period without
overexerting yourself. And this is how to pedal the proper cadence.
