Female Speaker: What can you say about this first season and your character specifically?
Aimee Teegarden: I can't talk specifically about the full season because
we haven't started shooting the full season yet, we haven't finished it.
But as far as the pilot and describing the show it's a mixture of District 9
and Romeo & Juliet.
It has aliens, it has humans just set in a high school backdrop with the aliens
and the integration from that with them into the high school is sort of more of
a metaphor of so many different prejudices we've had in our past like in 1850s Little Rock.
So while it does have the sci-fi element it's really just about humanity and relationships.
Female Speaker: And the love story. Aimee Teegarden: And a love story and the
cool close because it's 10 years in the future so the fashion's pretty awesome.
Female Speaker: And if you could describe your character in one word what would it be?
Aimee Teegarden: Spunky.
Female Speaker: And is there a moment that has stood out for you so far in like
shooting the pilot I would guess?
Aimee Teegarden: A moment that stood out for me in shooting the pilot - there's
a scene between my character Emery and Roman and they have a very honest moment between
two beings and it becomes very intimate and it's just funny that like he's an
alien and a human and if an alien landed right now everyone would be freaking out
and it's just weird to think of two people like that being together.
I don't know, it was a really sweet moment.
Female Speaker: And finally you just had a panel of the Comic-Con so how was that?
Aimee Teegarden: It was amazing. I've never been to Comic-Con, I've never
done a panel like this before, and getting to watch 5000 people watch your pilot
and listening to the feedback - that was the first time we've ever had real like
instant feedback and like certain lines or like moments people were laughing,
there were certain moments there was like the "Aaah" and then there was like this kind
of close moment, like romantic moment, and everyone was like "Ooh" and then it didn't
happen and they were like "Ooh" but it was just awesome, everyone in the audience
seemed super excited and just like the energy from Comic-Con is amazing.
