Hello and welcome to MondragonLingua Video Lesson.
In this Video we are going to learn how to speak about jobs and professions.
Jobs and professions such as teachers, doctors, salesmen, shop
assistants, dustmen or policemen. In English to say what's our job we use the
verb "to be" and very important!
We use the article: A For example:
* I'm a teacher * He's a policeman
* or We're dustmen We omit the article A when the sentence is
in plural. Listen carefully: * We're teachers
* They're policemen * You're shop assistants
Ok? Come on then!
Let's practise. I'm going to give you a subject and a job
and you make the sentence, ok?
* He - dustman Very good! He's a dustman
* You -- singer Well done!, You're a singer
* They -- teachers Very good!
They're teachers
but remember! In English to say what's our job
We use the verb "to be"
and the article A but only when it is singular
when it is plural, We say We are teachers
