My name is Julian Camilo, I live in Ciudad Bolivar, a district of Bogota and I am 14 years-old.
Originally, I am from Tolima Santo
My neighbourhood has good and very bad things here, there are a lot of drugs and gangs...
but there's also a lot of solidarity between people.
Playing football makes me happy
It makes us feel happy, it makes us feel the wonders of the world
we feel good...
I adapted well thanks to the foundation Colombianitos who supported me since I arrived
The work of the Colombianitos Foundation is based on the children's passion for football
With our kids, we want them to learn values through the practice of football
Values like honesty, respect, trust, self-esteem... values that are to be applied on the pitch
Julian is a kid who has grown up step by step, through the activities that Colombianitos have
Unfortunately, this area is a very vulnerable place, economically and socially, so if he had not found Colombianitos
he would be another kid, I am sure, in a very different situation.
I want to become someone good, and help my mother and my father, and my family
just to get out of this area, I want to leave somewhere else in the countryside, more quiet.
Julian is an example for all the kids in the foundation he is clever, hard worker in his studies
responsible with his training sessions and all the activities proposed by the Colombianitos foundation
and now he also teaches, what he learnt here.
I help young kids from 6 to 9, I train them
I love teaching because I can at least give what I have received from others
That makes me feel very good in my heart.
I feel very proud of my son
For example, when I see other kids who are very rude with their parenrs,
who don't want to learn and to be educated, thanks God my son is not like that, he has been a very good son
My friends are the best in the world, and my family, I don't need to say it...
One of you has been selected to carry the flag of Colombia national team
during the first phase's games of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil !
And the winner is: Julian Camillo Valencia
