My name is Katie and I am from Milford Ohio.
I went to undergrad at Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio.
I got an undergrad degree in athletic training,
which is basically the people that run on the field when someone gets hurt
I found out I wanted to do chiropractic going into my junior year.
By then, I had everything set in stone there that I just couldn't take organic chemistry.
So when I found out Logan had the ASP program, where I could take
a full year's worth of organic chemistry in one trimester
and start my DC earlier
it was a no-brainer.
It allowed me to get settled here, because I knew no one coming out here, so it was
really easy, where I only had one or two classes to
explore the city and make friends with those people, so when I did start the DC
program, and I was really, really busy,
I didn't have worry about all of the things like an apartment ready or
anything like that. I had plenty of time to do all those things.
Doctor Steuben is a really good professor at organic chemistry; she made it really
easy for everyone and she made everyone on the same level. She knew what we needed
to know for biochemistry, and she really hammered the points
that she knew that Dr. Gutweiler, the biochemistry professor here,
was going to hammer.
I would say that the easy transition like getting to know the school better
getting to be able to make friends in that class that were going to be doing
the same thing I did, going to be in my DC class, it was a lot easier.
and just coming in here to a huge orientation of 100 people and being
thrown into a class;
whereas in ASP, I was of 25 people
and we all just got to become really, really good friends, and it was just the best
transition I could ask for. I would recommended it to anyone, and I know a lot
of my friends were in it, there were some people who were in ASP who came just straight out of high school.
had high school prerequisites and
organic and stuff like that they don't in high school and then started a DC
program when they're 18 or 19 years old
or there's people like me who have an undergrad degree that just need one class
and don't want to go another year to wait
and that's perfect for you.
but anyone - the teachers are easy to work with - they help you get ready for
the DC program here or the master's program here
and it's just a very good transition
