>>Sanna Kiiski: There The Salvation were singing about everyman’s problems; if you have no car, you can’t get a girl and so on. Good morning Sir Christus. >>Christus: Thanks, thanks a lot.
>>Sanna: I want to start by a question that one of our viewers has sent. It’s a question about your artist name. You had that name already back then in Negative. Sir Christus. Where does it come from?
>>Christus: Well… Paavo Pekkonen from Bloodpit invented the “Christus” part which comes from my second name Kristian, and Antti Anatomy from Negative invented this “Sir” title. And I raised myself to be a general after that. *points at his badge*
>>Sanna: Oh yeah, I noticed that. >>Christus: It’s a long journey, you know. First to become raised to the nobility and then to be raised to be a general…
>>Sanna: When one Googles you from the Internet, one finds out that you used to be quite a wild guy some years ago. I was actually there to see it with my own eyes when you fell off the stage in Ruisrock, and your spine shortened 1,5 cm due to that fall, right? >>Christus: Yeah.
>>Sanna: And it took you some time to recover from it. Are your wild years over now? >>Christus: Well, yeah. I’m getting older. My father passed away at the same age I am now and…
>>Sanna: Arwo Mikkonen from Popeda. >>Christus: Yeah. It has made me think about what I want from life and so my priorities have changed. Music has always been the most important thing for me.
>>Sanna: I’ve read an interview in which you said that you no longer need anything from the “street stores” and that it’s unforgivable if you are in so bad condition that you can’t throw a gig for your fans. >>Christus: Yeah.
>>Sanna: So there was a time when your life was very foggy. >>Christus: Well, yeah, I had some conflicts with the members of Negative, or actually Jonne and I had some disagreements with each other.
And then I started to *** and moan a little and became a bit childish and then… I should have stopped it earlier but I didn’t think about it back then. I thought that I could just go with the flow and discuss it later but it’s not usually a good thing to do.
>>Sanna: Sam Yaffa and Michael Monroe will be here later this morning and Sam Yaffa has talked very openly about how heroine almost led him to his ruin once. How much drugs are there going around in music business?
>>Christus: Yes, when artists go to Europe, they are being offered drugs right away. But you choose your gangs yourself.
>>Sanna: So it’s up to your own choice if you do them or not. >>Christus: Yeah. If you’re seeking the underworld there, it’s sure to find you.
>>Sanna: So, you’re going to Europe again with your new band The Salvation! I heard you have some international members, one of them was Japanese-Spanish, was it the guitarist?
>>Christus: The bass-player. >>Sanna: Oh, right! >>Christus: Our bassplayer, Soheil Murakami.
>>Sanna: And I heard from your manager that you are being booked to some big festivals even though you haven’t even really published any music yet. We heard a sample but…
>>Christus: Yeah, well, it’s kinda funny that we haven’t even been to the studio yet. We’ve been doing some demos in our home studio but we haven’t sent them anywhere yet, so it’s strange that people are so interested in us. But well, it’s flattering.
>>Sanna: Do you feel like this is your thing? >>Christus: Yeah.
>>Sanna: So if we think that Michael Monroe is 20 years older than you and he can still dance around, shall we see you in this studio in 20 years? >>Christus: Yes, for sure.
>>Sanna: And Salvation will be famous then? >>Christus: Yes. >>Sanna: Thanks a lot for visiting!
>>Christus: Hey, I have to give you a little gift, this is my plectrum. >>Sanna: A plectrum! I’ve never had a plectrum! >>Christus: Well, now you do. >>Sanna: Thank you! Thanks a lot, Sir Christus!
