>>Jonathan: I think that living on campus, one,
and you know going ahead and stepping up and taking on responsibility,
even in a small way,
really made a difference, for me anyway.
>>Brynn: As a first year, I was sort of nervous about coming to this new environment
>>Adam: I came in not knowing a single person,
with no experience whatsoever of what Carolina would be all about.
>>Brynn: I really was looking for that small community that could be my home,
my family,
and that could support me throughout.
>>Lauren: Being in a Living-Learning Community has helped me so much.
I have a new group of friends that come to my room all the time
we talk about school, we talk about guys - we talk about anything.
>>Michael: I guess it's built on the fact that the people you live with
are the people that you interact with the most.
You have meaningful conversations,
structured conversations about your Living-Learning Community topic.
>>Lauren: It might be service,
it might be religion,
it might be Substance-Free
You have, whatever you're passionate about, there's probably a Living-Learning Community
for it.
>>Jonathan: So aside from just simply doing an LLC,
I can't recommend highly enough, a leadership position in the LLC, because
it's one of those things where it's small enough that you can really make it what you
want.
You have a lot to say about what you do every week,
and that's really cool.
>>Lauren: Housing offers so many different opportunities,
so any one that you choose is awesome.
>>Si: Last year I actually did Community Government (RHA),
which was just a great way to get to know everyone in your community
>>Lauren M: I wanted a challenge,
and I wanted to meet new people,
and it was breaking that comfort zone that really
brought me to who I am today.
>>Adam: I've been able to connect people to other resources
I've been able, what I feel,
to impact the lives of the people around me,
the people on my floor, the people in my suite.
>>Michael: I've really met a lot of really great people,
I've met a lot of other great RA's,
a lot of other great guys in my Living-Learning COmmunity.
And I've fostered some really really positive relationships
that have helped me grow and rethink about the way I see the world.
And I know I've also reached out and touched other people
and made them kinda rethink the way they see the world.
>>Si: I feel like I've definitely become a better person because of it,
and that's just the greatest feeling in the world.
>>Lauren: [at C-TOPS] Everyone started thinking, like, wait...
what am I gonna do? Because
everyone wants to leave their HEELprint, everyone does, but
it's just like, Oh my gosh! What am I going to do?
How am I really going to do that?
And then you find that it's really easy,
just do what you love to do.
ok I'm ready [laughs]
>>Lauren: How will you
>>Si: How will you
>>Adam: How will you
>>Brynn: How will you leave your HEELprint?"
