Today on our 2012 Toyota Sienna, we'll be test fitting the Convert-A-Ball Cushion Ball
Mount, part number AMSC4. First, we want to go over measurement on the vehicle. We want
to measure the hitch height. That's from the ground to the inside top edge of our receiver
tube. Keep in mind that this measurement will differ depending on exact model, tire size
or any aftermarket add-ons. The hitch height on our particular Sienna with this particular
hitch measures in at 12 inches. Now, we're ready to mount the ball mount in
the drop position. We'll insert the shank of the mount into the receiver tube of the
hitch. We'll line up our hitch pin hole and secure the mount with a standard 5/8-inch
pinning clip. Now, this ball mount offers a 4-inch drop which puts us at about 8 inches
from the ground to the top of the ball platform. Now, this is very low so do make sure that
your trailer actually needs this much of a drop before you use this ball mount in
this position.
