SPEAKER 1: So the Ruby project was a pretty cool opportunity.
We want to make some great updates to an amazing
platform, while still keeping it the Ruby that everybody
knows and loves.
We started pretty much from the ground up with a concept,
a ride experience, what we know that our riders want to
get out of the Ruby.
And then beyond that, we moved to some issues that we knew
were happening in the current bike.
We used women that we really feel embody the Ruby ride
experience, that are able to ride the bike and give us
candid feedback.
SPEAKER 2: The Ruby that someone goes into the store
and pays for has been ridden by women who actually it's
been designed for.
SPEAKER 1: We've made a lot of tech updates on the Ruby for
2013 to really help the overall experience.
We have the FACT TM construction process, which is
only for Specialized, the FACT carbon one-piece fork, a
beautiful integrated seat collar, shaped seatstays, all
of this wrapped into a stunning package that is lower
weight, higher stiffness, and all within
our compliance targets.
SPEAKER 2: You know, it's great for a long distance.
It wants to go with you.
It's into climbing.
It's into to going fast downhill.
It carves into corners.
It's like it can be as fun or just as hard a workhorse as
you want it to be.
To me, it's the perfect bike for me.
