Hi, I'm Ed Reyes with Master Builders here in Tampa, Florida on behalf of Expert Village.
I am going to teach you the proper use of an electric scroll saw. Now this particular
unit has the depth setter on it and what this depth setter does is as you are cutting across
with this wood, it will tend to bounce because of the saw going up and down with the wood.
When you set your saw, you want to loosen this up, let the depth finder fall down just
loosely on top of it to tighten it. That allows you to move your board back and forth but
it doesn't allow to move up and down. So when you are cutting, it gives you a straight even
cut. I can get a little notch corner if I want and I have it set just underneath so
that there is really no play on that board so that it won't bounce up and down.
