What's going on guys, today I'm taking a look at the newly announced LG G Pro 2 and the
Galaxy Note 3. Both these phablets are pretty beast but are they worth the price? Lets take
look... So first up the design, LG have gone for quite
a thin but curved design at around 8.3mm thick and a fair 172 grams. The Note on the other
hand has still gone for a slightly curved edge with a soft leather backing. The device
itself is also 8.3mm thick and weighs slightly less at 168 grams.
Next with the display, the LG holds a very large 5.9 inch 1080p display at roughly 373ppi. The
Note however holds a slightly smaller 1080p display at 5.7 inches. This does give it a
slightly higher pixel density, but both displays are still stunning.
If we move on to the camera and video. The LG Pro 2 has an amazing 13 mega pixel camera
recording at a fantastic 2160p or 4K. As well as this the LG has a reasonable 2.1 mega pixel
camera at the front recording full HD 1080p. If we look at the Note, we also see it has
a amazing 13 mega pixel shooter with 4K recording as well as a 2 mega pixel camera at the rear
also recording 1080p. Both these devices do have excellent cameras with flash as well
as great quality videos. Memory and Storage. The LG holds a large 3GB
of RAM and comes in 16 and 32Gb versions, which are expandable. The Note 3 also has
3GB of RAM however comes in 16, 32 and 64GB versions making it fantastic for HD content
and is also expandable. For me, both these devices has more enough RAM and both being
expandable is a great advantage over many others.
With the Chipset and CPU. The LG Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip and is Quad-core @2.26GHz.
The Note 3 is also very similar also with Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip however is Quad-core
@2.3GHz. This shouldn't make too much of a difference and is pretty darn good for gaming
and overall usage. Finally we have the battery, OS and some neat
features. So the LG Pro has a 3200mAh battery running the Android KitKat out the box. This
is a pretty decent sized battery and running the latest of Android should fly. The Note
3 is again very similar with a 3200mAh battery and is upgradable to Android KitKat. The LG
does include a Dolby sound enhancement speakers along with NFC, magic focus and something
called knock on. The device also holds a limited multi-window feature as well as 4G LTE. This
allows you to protect your device by a combination of locks with over 86,000 unique combinations.
The Note 3 holds Samsung's well known S-pen stylus along with multi-window, NFC and also
4G LTE. But what do you think of these two pretty
beast devices. Both these devices will cost around £600 however LG has not confirmed
their price. Feel free to comment your thoughts and opinions below along and if you do spot
