Waterlogue for iPhone
hello everyone this is David A *** with PCClassesOnline.com
today I wanted to share with all of you one of my
absolute favorite new apps for the iPhone and iPad
the name of the app is called Waterlogue it's $2.99
of course you can get it in the App Store and it's a universal
app meaning if you happen to own both an iPhone and the iPad
you'll get it on the other device for free. Now what this
app does is it takes your photos and turns it into an incredibly
realistic watercolor painting so let's get started here
we're gonna start with tapping on that little camera icon you see on my screen
and its going to give us the options of where we're going to pull
our image from. You can either use a photo already in your phone
located in your photo library or you can launch the camera right then and there
and take a photo and instantly turn that image
into a watercolor for now let's go into photo library
I already have one picked out we're going to use this image right here
of a lighthouse in Chatham, Massachusetts and you'll see here it
really does a great job that does not look
like something that was produced by a simple app
now at the bottom of the screen just like you can in
Instagram you can add different filters to change the look
there's a whole bunch of different ones here. I've experimented with all of them
and at least in my opinion I find that the one it uses by default the "natural"
one seems to work the best. A couple other things you can do with this app if you
scroll
all the way to the right you can change the resolution
of your image this is going to be especially useful
if you want to get this image printed and you can you can do it of course
yourself on your home printer
or you can send it out and use online photo printing services like Shutterfly.com
or iPhoto, etc. so for now lets just make this a
giant image. It doesn't take all that long
to process it takes about 20 seconds or so
It's gonna do it a little bit slower if you're on an
older phone and if you keep scrolling here
if you don't like the way the image is looking you can actually lighten
it up you can darken it and when you're done and you have your final product
you have some really amazing options to share this
with your friends and family. So you see that little heart icon?
We're going to tap on that. That's you're sharing options in this case
and right off the bat you'll see there at the top we can send this to Instagram
Twitter tumbler oddly Facebook is not an option
however you can still send it to Facebook it's just you have to save this
image to your phone
and then go from there to Facebook but you also have this really
amazing option here you can have this image professionally printed for you
and turned into a four by six postcard
which in they will then mail out. I think of this as being an
amazing way to give a greeting card. Its a little bit more personal than a hallmark
card
And you can send it to anywhere in the world it's a really nice way to
send your thoughts to someone. Let's cancel out of that
and go back into the sharing options. You can save it of course to the
photo library it's the most versatile option because then it's on your phone
you can of course save it to iCloud and send it to any other services that you want
you can copy it
if you have other photo programs in your phone you can hit
"open in" and oddly once again that does not launch
Facebook. You can email it out and if you go here to Settings there's not a
hell of a lot of settings but
you can change it from a JPEG into a PNG format. Some people like that
and this is also another place where you can change the resolution of
the image
it still says original in my case I hope you enjoy this
app and I hope you've enjoyed this little video if you are watching us
on youtube please give us that little thumbs up button and like this video we
really appreciate it
