What is racial profiling? According to the ACLU,
racial profiling refers to the discriminatory practices by law
enforcement officials
of targeting individuals for suspicion of crime based
on the individual's race, ethnicity, religion or

Where did it originate? Blacks and other minorities were seen as inferior to
whites since
early American colonization were pigmentocracy
and black slavery were heavily exploited. Many blacks in America as well as
other minorities have continued to experience racial profiling
