I used to work for one of the world's largest auto makers. I was a production worker.
2006. That opportunity ended because of the down-sizing of this company.
My wife decided one day, "Hey, I'm going to go get a job so you can go to college."
The day that I met Jeff was the day that he asked me to marry him.
And we had a lot in common. When Jeff knows what he wants, he goes for it.
First two hours we ever spoke in our lives, we had already become engaged.
My goal, going with education, is to better my life. And if I better my life, I better my family's life.
In today's economy, education is everything. So for my children, I want them to have
a college degree to have a chance to have a good job.
Family is everything to Jeff.
He wants to show his daughters, you know, it's never too late to do anything.
Ireland plays the trumpet and she can also play the french horn.
You'll know her cause she has the purple hair.
Family is the most important thing to me so I always want to be at my daughter's events.
At Ashford, I do feel like I'm part of a community.
I do have a broad range of experience with my background in manufacturing.
I can share those experiences and bring those to the classroom. Jeff studies right there in the living room so he
can be with us still and he doesn't have to go and close the door.
With our new technology, it's great. You can reach out and talk to anybody.
I feel like i'm broadening my horizons even not even leaving my living room.
I have to take a lot of accounting classes and financial classes. And finance has never been my strength.
But now I know more about finances than I ever did and I feel that
now I have got such a well-rounded education,
it opens up my employment opportunities ten-fold.
The professors here really push you to make you better.
And that's why I chose Ashford University.
