What's up guys. Carbine just revealed their payment model and I am stoked. A lot of people
on the Wildstar Reddit are pretty butthurt but I think this is awesome! I got almost
exactly what I wanted. Not quite but I think it's a really cool system. I am very excited
for this game now. I honestly might be more excited now than if I got exactly what I wanted
because this seems really interesting and it could lead to a pretty cool dynamic in
the game. So let's go over the basics. Wildstar will have a $60 box fee. So you have to buy
the game and that comes with 30 days free game time. Then it'll be a $15 a month sub
fee if you buy it 1 month at a time. It'll be $12.99 a month if you buy it 6 months at
a time. And $10.99 a month if you buy it a year at a time. That I'm excited for, I like
sub fee games. Just because I feel they're a better value. Big one, no cash shop items.
Very excited for that. I hate cash shop items. I don't want to pay $60 for a mount I don't
want to have to buy my bags. I just wanna pay for the game and get the game. I don't
like all this ***. "ohhh you get this but don't get this." I hate that. I'm very
excited about that. Now the people that were flippin' *** casue they don't want to pay
a sub fee, here ya go. Wildstar will have a "PLEX" style system simimlar to Eve Online
and those are called CREDDS. So instead of Plex it's called C.R.E.D.D. and that stands
for "Certificate of Research, Exploration, Destruction and Development" and this works
exactly like Eve where you can buy game time from other players. Now the way this works
is someone goes and buys C.R.E.D.D. directly from Carbine for $20 and I guess 1 C.R.E.D.D.
will get you 1 month of game time. And when they buy that C.R.E.D.D. they can sell it
to other players for whatever price they deem or the lowest price that's already available.
So basically you buy the C.R.E.D.D. from Carbine and then you sell it to other players. It's
a way that people can buy gold without having to do it illegally through another website.
Now that I'm not a fan of. I don't like people being able to buy gold but it seems like something
that's just gonna happen. It just seems like everyone is caving in rather than really enforcing
their game. They're just gonna have things like this. And I think this style of system...it
gives Carbine more incentive to actually enforce the game because they'll be losing money if
they don't. Where as with Blizzard they don't really care if people buy gold because at
the end of the day everyone's paying a $15 a month sub fee. With this they want everybody
to be legit because if everybody's legit they're gonna make more money so that means this game
might be cleaner than if it was just a normal $15 a month. So we'll see, we'll see how that
actually plays out. But the genius of this system is that anytime somebody buys game
time with gold from another player they're basically paying $20 a month for that sub
fee. They might...like for example if I never pay for game time and I always buy it with
gold. I'm paying $20 a month. I'm not paying it but somebody else is paying my sub fee
and paying at a higher rate for me in exchange for my gold. So what does this mean? This
means that if they pull this off right and the game is successful. They're gonna make
a lot of *** money and in my opinion it won't be at that much cost to the player.
If they pull it off right they're gonna make a lot of *** money. So I really appreciate
the genius of this system and I hope they pull it off well. If all goes well dude...they're
gonna make a lot of *** money. I will say that this is a...pretty smart. Now the
reason why this system is so genius is because C.R.E.D.D. just disappears. C.R.E.D.D. is
not something tangible where it lasts forever. No every single month a bunch of it just disappears
out of thin air. And then Carbine makes a bunch more money when people buy it all over
again. So it's interesting and it's gonna add a cool dynamic to the game because it's
gonna be like a stock market aspect where "ohhh do I buy C.R.E.D.D. now like at whatever
1000 gold a pop and then sell it for 2000 when the expansion comes out." It's...I like
this. I really do like this. I think it'll be really cool. And it gives Carbine...what
this system does, why I like this system over *** microtransactions. Buy a sparkle pony
for $60. Why I like this more is because this puts pressure on Carbine to make the game
good. Unlike cosmetic items where a lot of games that have Cash Shops they spend so much
time on the Cash Shop items and not that much time on the game. With this they have to make
the game good. They will not make any money if the game is bad. And it means they have
to keep the game clean because if people are buying gold from these shady websites they're
not gonna be making the money. So they gotta keep the game clean, they gotta keep the game
fun, and they have to put gold dumps in the game because if everybody has a bunch of gold
then uh...no one's gonna have to really buy the PLEX...the C.R.E.D.D. to begin with. So
what they need is they need people to be poor. They need people to not have gold, they need
people to not have a way to easily get gold through shady means, and they have to have
people want to play the game. So the ball is in their court, they are the ones that
are really in charge of this game. Unlike Blizzard, unlike TERA where they spend all
this *** time on the cash shop and the cosmetic stuff and not that much time on the
game. I just said TERA because I know it's a Cash Shop...I don't know. The game might
be great I don't *** know. So anyway...I'm excited. I really like this. I really do because
it puts Carbine behind the 8 ball. They've really got to deliver and it forces them to
actually stay on top of their game so....YAAAAAAY now let me look at my notes here. Here we
go. So another reason I like C.R.E.D.D. is because it gives you something to spend your
gold on. MMOs run into a problem where gold becomes worthless. How many times in World
of Warcraft has gold become worthless? Gold is probably worthless right now. After you
get your enchants and your mounts and your training what do you spend your gold on? I
remember in Cataclysm....some of you old school guys might remember this but I did a thing
where I RP walked up and down the Stormwind bridge I said "I was selling escorts up and
down the Stormwind bridge 100 gold a pop" and people paid me like 10,000, 20,000. I
made 400,000 gold in 6 hours. If you don't believe me ask anyone in my guild or ask anyone
in the comments down below. That's real. I made 400,000 gold in World of Warcraft in
6 hours RP walking up and down the Stormwind bridge in a slutty Night Elf costume. I sold
all that gold before I quit. That is how worthless gold was in World of Warcraft...people were
literally giving it away. With this gold has a worth and they're also...again it forces
Carbine to make gold dumps in the game. It forces Carbine to make that awesome crazy
mount that you buy for gold because they don't want people to have gold. They want people
to want to buy the $20 a month game time thing to sell it. So...YAAAAY! I'm actually pretty
*** excited for this. uhhh...what else do we got here in my notes. Oh yea another
thing. Something I'm not excited about...Spring 2014. So the game got pushed back...fuuuuckkkk
the game got pushed back. The game's gonna come out in Spring 2014. What the *** am
I gonna do? I am so bored. So yaaay...I guess...This is not good, honestly this is not very good....yea
this is not good at all. This means they're gonna have to compete directly with a World
of Warcraft expansion. I can almost guarantee a World of Warcraft expansion is gonna come
out around that time. Maybe a month after, 2 months after but close. It'll be close and
then you have The Elder Scrolls Online which is coming in out Spring 2014 as well.
Again man...if the game as out 2 months ago. That would have been the perfect time. Obviously
I don't want the game to be rushed, I want the the game to be good. I want the game to
come out when it's ready. But I'm just saying, this is actually the perfect time to launch
because everyone and their mom is getting ready to kill themself because they're so
bored. Spring 2014...let's see how that pans out. Let me know what you guys think in the
comments down below and I'll see you guys next time.
