The gain is very important because it allows you to effect the decibel level of what your
signal is going into your plug in. So you can, this will help you achieve a signal to
noise ratio that you're looking for within your track. Now when looking at the gain right
here it's going to allow me to bring my track down or up depending on what I'm looking for.
What I can do is I can actually turn it down a little bit to try to get my whole thing
to stop clipping. This is going to help me achieve like a no clipping and just a really
clean sound. By making sure that I'm using my gain properly I can tailor my track to,
see more, you know what I'm saying. So it's never really clipping. So I can turn it up
and always *** it and never really achieve like that dirty, bad sound. When doing this, this is very important, because
whenever you get any type of clipping or any type of metering that's going above zero you're
going to get a lot of distortion and unwanted noise.
